Accessible Beaches/Beach Wheelchairs in Massachusetts. Find beach mats to the water, sand beach wheelchairs and floating beach wheelchairs in Massachusetts state parks with the DCR Universal Access Program. Contact the beach or park in advance to reserve a beach wheelchair.
* There are two types of beach wheelchairs at DCR beaches. Floating Chairs, and Sand and sunbathing beach wheelchairs that are made of PVC pipe. These chairs offer a seat belt, a footrest, a beach umbrella holder, and a movable arm for transfer. This style of chair do not float and can’t enter the water.
