Webinar, October 16th, 2025, with Equity & Training Center at Wayside Youth of Metrowest. This training gives community health professionals insights into diagnostic criteria, prevalence, myths, and behavioral factors associated with common eating disorders. Participants will learn to identify symptoms, understand underlying factors, discuss body image impact and apply practical strategies.
* Attendees will leave equipped with actionable tools to support individuals affected by disordered eating, and to foster trauma-informed approaches to use in their daily work.
* Speaker – Angela Goens. As a Registered Dietitian, Angela is invested in removing barriers for people of color to seek the quality and equitable treatment they deserve. Angela has dedicated her entire career to serving those in various levels of intensive care treatment for eating disorders, depression, anxiety, maternal health and trauma. Angela leads a team of Registered Dietitians at Lynlake Centers for Wellbeing. This is a large collective of mental health providers with over 15 locations based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Angela is also the Director of Education at EDRD Pro, which is an online platform for professionals to learn and sharpen their skills for working with disordered eating patterns.
* In 2022, Angela co-created the first ever BIPOC Eating Disorders Conference. This annual, multi-day event, was developed to better meet the needs of those often overlooked in most existing mental health treatment models. This conference gives a platform for clinicians and students in the field of eating disorders to learn from an expert lineup of BIPOC-only providers, who present on an important variety of mental health topics related to eating disorders.
