* If so, this may Networking Series Meeting may be of interest to you.
The June networking session will offer Part 2 of the series on how to examine the IEP document with a trauma sensitive lens.
Share possible goals that focus on building self-compassion, self-advocacy and development of coping skills for increased autonomy in using calming techniques.
* There will also be time and space for discussion and sharing challenges and successes for the trauma sensitive IEP. * There will also be an additional session on this topic for their Networking Series on June 9th.
About the Speaker: Mary-Beth Landy is the Senior Training and Support Specialist for the RTSC, training and supporting Special Education Surrogate Parents. She has served as a Family and Educational Advocate for almost 20 years. She has been worked as the Call Center Coordinator for the Federation’s Call Center, assisting families and professional by educating, informing, and empowering them in Special Education rights and services, including the federal and state laws. Mary-Beth has run her own educational advocacy agency, specializing in mental health issues. She has been a trainer and facilitator for National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI Mass), as well as a Family Partner for Riverside Community Care, where she worked with families of children with mental health issues. Mary-Beth is the parent of two children adopted through the Department of Children and Families.
