Berklee-Free-Music-Lessons-for-Those-with-Special-Needs.jpgOnline, March 1st – May 10th, 2022. Free. The Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs in Boston offers group lessons to adults on the autism spectrum with traditional instrument options: Alto Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, Trombone, or Trumpet.
* Virtual or digital instruments available from the Bandlab for Education platform may also be used.
* Adults with an Asperger profile who live anywhere can participate.
* This interest series lets up to 20 participants explore and grow as independent and ensemble musicians using traditional or digital instruments during practice and group lessons.
* Lessons will focus on note reading, technique, and recording as participants work to record music with their peers. * Participants will use Bandlab for Education (a free platform) to collaborate in an ensemble and to optionally use virtual/digital instruments.
* At the end of the interest series, Berklee staff will curate an online ensemble performance that each student will receive.
* This ensemble performance will also be featured on the Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs website and the AANE website.
