East Boston, MA, August 25th, 2025, with the DCR Universal Access Program and Spaulding Rehabilitation. Join the State of Massachusetts Universal Access Program and Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers for some cool summer skating at Porrazzo Memorial Rink in E. Boson. Then enjoy a waterfront barbeque next door on Constitution Beach (courtesy of FMC Ice Sports).
* Use your wheelchair, an ice sled, a skate walker, ice grippers, or conventional skates on the ice.
* Yaktrax (ice grippers) are available in the lobby for those that can’t skate.
* Spin, slide and play gently competitive games.
* There will be pucks and colorful balls to shoot around, races, and a tower of blocks to crash down.
* The rink is cold, so please dress warmly and bring your winter coat, gloves, and a hat.
* This program is for people with disabilities, their families, support staff, and friends.
* All are encouraged to join on the ice to help support.
Pre-registration is required. You must request to register by 12 p.m. two days before the program.
* You must sign up for a time slot and can skate for one hour.
Groups: Maximum group size is 15, including staff.
