Free for Parent and Caregivers.  PPAL’s Statewide meetings are meant ONLY for parents/caregivers/family members/family partners of children with behavioral health needs. * Join in for a discussion about the difficult topic of suicide.
* Topics include:

  • Systems change
  • Least restrictive suicide care (in behavioral health settings)
  • Finding a common language (toward safer suicide care)
  • Safe messaging around suicide
About the Speaker: Jessica McHugh – Jessica currently serves as the Director of the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention Program at the Department of Mental Health and on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention.  She was previously the Assistant Director for a suicide crisis hotline, and was Chair of the Cape and Islands Suicide Prevention Coalition. Jessica is a Master National Trainer in Signs of Suicide (SOS) and has trained school counselors, social workers and teachers in more than 25 states.
* Jessica has also been personally impacted by suicide and is passionate passionate that each of us can make a positive difference.
