Webinar, May 14th, 2024, with the Parent Professional Advocacy League in Massachusetts. This meeting is for parents, caregivers, family members, family partners, and peer leaders with experience supporting children with emotional, behavioral, or mental health needs. Young adults and recovery coaches are also welcome.
The MA Individualized Education Program (IEP) document will be seeing the first major change to the form in 20 years in the state of Massachusetts. This presentation will discuss:
– Understand why changes have been made.
– Learn the timeline for implementation.
– Review the new form and see what has been added.
– Explore areas for student and parent input.
– Identify areas for team collaboration
About the Speaker: Mary-Beth Landy is the Senior Trainer and Family Engagement Manager for the Massachusetts Statewide Family Engagement Center at the Federation for Children with Special Needs. She has worked as the Call Center Coordinator for the Federation’s Call Center, assisting families and professional by educating, informing, and empowering them in Special Education rights and services.
* Mary-Beth is the parent of two children adopted through the Department of Children and Families. She also Serves on the Executive Leadership Committee of the Family Advisory Committee for the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
