Webinar, January 22nd, 225, with the Arc of Massachusetts. According to the FINDS Survey, approximately 80% of people with disabilities are cared for by family members. Who will take on this role when those caregivers are no longer able to do so? Parents often feel like they “just can’t die.” This is a common and pressing concern for families. In fact, one of The Arc chapter’s family support centers identified a lack of planning for these situations as one of their top challenges.
* Some families feel unable to plan because they lack the financial resources to support their loved one’s goals or future needs. Others are overwhelmed by the demands of daily life or are focused on securing the right services for now.
* Join The Arc of Massachusetts’s Leo Sarkissian for a virtual forum to explore key issues and ways The Arc can build a strategy to support families. Finding an answer requires a sustainable plan and your input can help guide our approach.
· This forum is intended for families to share their concerns, ideas, and experiences. Family support team members are also encouraged to attend. Additional outreach to families will take place both in person and remotely.
· Separate sessions will be scheduled for professionals in the field to gather their feedback and insights. The Arc aims to build on existing collaborations and develop new ones as we work to address this complex issue.
