Brookline, in person, with online options, April 29th – June 10th, 2024, with the Brookline Teen Center and Impact Boston. For 9th graders to 22 year olds with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (I/DDs) As teens with developmental (ASD) and intellectual disabilities navigate increasing independence, many face challenges around staying safe.
* This 6-week course will give them skills to identify inappropriate and unsafe behaviors, communicate their boundaries, and avoid scams and exploitation online.
* Students will learn to recognize safe and healthy relationships.
* Taught by certified IMPACT trainers with extensive experience working with students with disabilities, this course will use role-plays, visual aids, and repetition to help students develop and practice healthy communication skills.
