Acton, MA, October 26th, 2024, 5 – 8 p.m. A special free Halloween event for children and adults with disabilities or sensory sensitivities, including those that are deaf, blind, or autistic. Enjoy a fun, friendly experience in an accessible and universally designed environment while exploring interactive exhibits and participating in hands-on activities.
* Any family that can benefit from a limited capacity visit is welcome at this event; a medical diagnosis is not required.
* The museum will be closed to the public and headcount will be limited.
* Dinner, including a gluten-free option, will be provided.
* You can prepare for your visit by reviewing the Discovery Museum Social Story which is available in six languages on the Especially for Me page or at theAdmissions Desk.
Especially for Me programs offers free admission during special hours for families and groups that would benefit from a limited capacity, sensory friendly visit. During these events, they offer accommodations that increase access to exhibits and provide an opportunity for families to network with one another in an understanding, ADA-compliant environment. Extra steps are also taken for the comfort of visitors including a designated Take-A-Break Space.
