June 11- Healthy Boundaries: Types of Public and Private Relationships. Even though people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are sexual beings, just like everyone, they also need the information and skills to navigate these waters and learn what’s okay and not okay in various settings.
* This webinar will explore tips and tools for addressing sexuality one-on-one with the individuals you work with. Explore why this topic can be difficult to approach and useful tools that will help you become more comfortable and confident and communicate about this sensitive topic.

About the Speakers: 

  • Ann Phelan is Manager of Resources and Engagement of the Perkins Transition Center. Ann is a sexual educator specializing in supporting individuals with disabilities and has extensive experience in abuse and exploitation prevention
  • Katherine McLaughlin is Founder and Director of Training, Elevatus Training. Katherine is certified as a sexuality educator by AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists) and is the Founder of Disability Workshops, now Elevatus Training, LLC. She is the author of Sexuality Education for People with Developmental Disabilities Curriculum.
