Springfield, MA, May 23rd – June 21st, 2023.  The Springfield JCC’s Kehillah Department is partnering with Bay Path University and students in the Master’s of Occupational Therapy Department to offer new groups for Western Massachusetts’ families with disabilites.
Focus Group: Building Peer Social Skills: Tuesdays, May 23 – June 20, 2023, 4:15 – 5:15 PM.
* Open to those ages 8 – 11 with various physical, developmental, and/or intellectual disabilities.
* This group is run simultaneously with the Parent/Caregiver Support Group.
Parent/Caregiver Support Group: Tuesdays, May 23 – June 20, 2023, 4:15 – 5:15 PM.
* Led by Danielle Goldberg, a third year student in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program at Western New England University.
* This group is geared towards parents/caregivers who have or care for children with various physical, developmental, and/or intellectual disabilities.
Focus Group: Type 1 Diabetes: Wednesdays, May 24 – June 21, 2023, 4:15 – 5:15 PM.
* This group, open to those ages 10 – 14, will teach coping strategies, discuss daily challenges of living with T1D, and will foster new relationships between peers.
* This group is led by a group of four Bay Path University students, one of whom has both T1D and Celiac.
