Boston, Museum of Fine Arts, December 21st, 2024. For teens with Autism Spectrum and Aspergers Disorders ages 13 to 18. Focus on specific art topics and incorporate discussion, critical inquiry, and sketching in the galleries. Students then work independently on a project with guidance from an experienced instructor
December’s Theme: Gratitude in Print: Creating Heartfelt Holiday Cards. Explore the art of gratitude through the medium of printmaking. Take an inspiring tour of the Museum of Fine Arts’ exquisite collection of prints. Examine various printmaking techniques, styles, and how artists have used this versatile medium to express emotions and convey messages throughout history.
* Discuss how different cultures and artists have represented themes of gratitude, celebration, and connection in their work. This exploration will provide a rich visual vocabulary and historical context for our own creative endeavors.
* Following the tour, return to the classroom for a hands-on printmaking session.
* Participants will learn basic printmaking techniques and apply them to create their own unique holiday or New Year’s cards.
