Amherst, MA, July 7th – August 7th, 2025, with the Amherst Recreation Department. Join a Adaptive Swim Lessons for all abilities. Staff are trained in adaptive swim lessons and sensory awareness. Adaptive equipment is available. For community members, ages 6 to age 18, who have not been able to benefit from group swim lessons due to physical, cognitive, or sensory needs not being met.
What is Offered?
30 minutes of guarded open pool time with our staff to acclimate to the water and get familiar with our adaptive equipment.
30 minutes of swim instructor led adaptive swim curriculum that meets the needs of the swimmer.
30 minutes of guarded open pool time to practice what was learned and ease out of the pool.
Caregivers are encouraged to participate in any or all of the pool experience, as everyone will all be learning how to support swimmers.
