Salem, MA, March 25th – June 3rd, 2024, with Spaulding Hospitals’ Adaptive Sports Centers. A Multi-Week Sports Series for Youth with Visually Impairments Ages 9-17. During this multi-week sports series, Spaulding Adaptive Sports Center staff will go over the concept of gym acclamation, individual physical fitness, wellness with peers and team sport.
* Designed specifically for athletes with visual impairments, Goalball is a court-based game played by all ages and genders with the objective to get the basketball-sized noise-making ball into the opposing team’s net. The opposing players try to block the ball with their bodies. The court is marked by tactile court lines and the net runs the width of the court.
* Salem State Occupational Therapy (OT) students will have the opportunity to come and volunteer under the supervision of SASC Staff.
