Webinar, June 4th, 2025, with Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA. Part of the Perkins “Let’s talk about Sexuality” webinar series. Join a virtual four-part series to help parents, caregivers, and professionals explore strategies for meaningful conversations and discover tools to make this topic easier to approach.
June 4 – How to help your Child to be a Strong Sexual Self- Advocate. People with developmental disabilities are often left out of the conversation about sexuality, almost as if they are incapable of having thoughts, feelings, and needs. In reality, they, too, are sexual beings who need information and skills for making healthy decisions about sexuality. One of these skills is the ability to be a sexual self-advocate.
* During this workshop, parents will learn what sexual self-advocacy is, explore ways you can support your child in becoming a sexual self-advocate, and teach self-advocacy skills to your child.
