- The office will issue annual reports, will collect data, track, monitor, and investigate special education disputes.
- Office can investigate and audit districts and the Rhode Island Department of Education for compliance with federal and state law.
- Provide a place for anonymous reports of possible violations.
- Establish a “Parent Report Card” that solicits the family’s feedback after every school meeting, informs of rights under state and federal law, and provides information to contact Ombudsman Office.
