Webinar, October 17th, 2025, with Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association in Newton. The co-occurrence of ADHD and restrictive eating disorders (eg anorexia nervosa and ARFID) can present several challenges. Left untreated, the symptoms of ADHD are likely to interfere with the treatments for the eating disorder.
* While there are strategies that can be employed to try to mitigate this in group therapy settings, medications are known to be significantly more effective at reducing ADHD symptoms. However, such medications are also known to have potential adverse effects which can be particularly problematic in those with restrictive eating disorders.
* How common are these adverse effects actually with the various medication options?
* How can these medications be used safely and effectively in this patient population?
