All Dates and Topics: 

  • 1/6 – Getting on the Road to Housing – This broad overview of housing presents a 5-to-10-year roadmap for families to follow and gives a generic outline of the necessary components of sustainable, supported housing.
  • 1/13 – Thinking about Housing Part 1 – “Thinking about Housing” is “Housing 101” for parents. This presentation introduces families to the range of public funds available to pay for housing and supportive services (including for those without DDS supports).
  • 1/20 – Thinking about Housing Part 2 – In the second half of “Thinking about Housing”, some examples are given of how public funds can be combined with private funds to create housing.
  • 1/27 – Applying for Housing – This presentation walks families and professionals through the range of affordable and subsidized housing options available to people with disabilities in Massachusetts. A strategy for completing a basic set of applications and tracking them over time is presented.
