Mansfield, MA, October 6th – November 10th, 2021. Challenger Sports is a sports program offered to children who have a disability, live in Mansfield and are between the ages of 5 and 22.
* It is the intention of the Challenger Sports Mansfield to provide an opportunity for those children whose physical and cognitive abilities prevent their involvement in local youth sports.
*An IEP or ED Plan is not a basis for inclusion in this program. Please consider your child’s abilities prior to registering them in Challengers
* Younger children (ages 5-10) attend the early session which runs 6:30pm-7:15pm.
* The session for the older individuals (ages 11-22) runs from 7:15pm-8:00 pm.
* Both sessions involve warm up exercises, skills practice and age appropriate games.
* Soccer is a focused activity for the fall session.
* Program flexibility ensures that each child participates in activities regardless of his/her age or ability.
* A parent/guardian/or caregiver is asked to be present during the session to provide information about the participant to staff and volunteers.
* The host asks that parents do not come into the gym during sessions to limit exposure, and that participants wear a mask when they enter the building and are on school grounds.
