Sturbridge, MA, October 28th, 2022, with the Mass Department of Elementary & Secondary Education. Free. The DESE is hosting their first-ever in-person family engagement event Better Together: Strengthening Family School Partnership . Pre-registration is now open.
* Why a summit? Because partnership between families and schools is essential for the success of Massachusetts students: students thrive when we partner effectively.
* The DESE will use the summit as an opportunity to listen to families and educators, put the spotlight on effective partnership practices, and help districts center family school partnership in every aspect of how they do school.
* Districts can pre-register a team of up to 8 people.
* In the spirit of partnership, at least half must be family members (who are not school/district staff).
* Engage and build a relationship with family members you have been wanting to work with or need to.
* Support is available for family members (for example, help with transportation, interpretation services at the event).
Please note: Space is limited! Because of that, pre-registration is NOT a guarantee that you or your team can participate. DESE will confirm your participation. They will be prioritizing a balance of family members and district/school staff from different parts of the state and districts of different sizes.
