Speech Skills in the Hybrid/Online Classroom workshop with the Massachusetts Down Syndrome CongressWebinar, March 6th, 2021, with the Mass Down Syndrome Congress and the 321 Foundation of Burlington, MA.  Speech services are often an essential component of the educational program of students, but with social distancing a norm these days, how are can we develop important speech skills in a hybrid/online classroom environment?
* This workshop will provide an overview of social pragmatics and explain why these skills are critical for an inclusive educational experience.
* Consider the challenges our children face in our new socially distant norm and leave you with some ideas both in and out of the classroom to foster and build communication. 

About the speaker:  Sarah Burton, is a Parent Educator and is the speech and language pathologist at the Mitchell Elementary School in Needham. Sarah works with students who have language-based learning difficulties, receptive and expressive language delays, and social communication needs. Sarah also works  with the Learning Program Boston, the 3-21 Foundation’s parent-focused educational intervention program to support their students and families.
