Boston, Museum of Fine Arts, February 17th,, 2024. For teens with Autism Spectrum and Aspergers Disorders ages 13 to 18. Focus on specific art topics and incorporate discussion, critical inquiry, and sketching in the galleries. Students then work independently on a project with guidance from an experienced instructor.
February Theme: Mindfulness & Watercolor. Embark on a journey of mindfulness and creativity through the medium of watercolor painting. Start by immersing in the serene atmosphere of the museum’s galleries, exploring various artworks and allowing them to inspire. During our gallery visit, practice mindfulness techniques, to fully engage with the art and cultivate a sense of calm and presence.
* After our gallery experience, return to the classroom to unleash artistic expressions using watercolors. Guided by newfound mindfulness, explore different techniques and experiment with color blending, washes, and brush strokes to create unique masterpieces. Through this art class, develop artistic skills but also cultivate a deeper connection with the creative process.
