Americans with Disabilities ADA Celebration - BraintreeBraintree, July 29th, 2018. Hosted by Advancing Community Inclusion & Equality on the South Shore. Join them for an ADA 28th Anniversary Celebration disability activists who fought pass the law. After years of fighting by the disability community for equal rights, the American’s with Disabilities Act was signed into law by President George H.W. Bush on July 26, 1990.
CELEBRATION WILL INCLUDE:
• DISPLAY OF DISABILITY HISTORY – including the story behind the American’s with Disabilities Act.
• RESOURCES – learn more about the ADA as well as how YOU can help make our community accessible for people with disabilities.
• ART PROJECT – use your creativity to show what the ADA means to you.
• CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES – learn about how people with disabilities got the ADA passed and how it helps people with various disabilities live in our community.
