Danvers, MA, January 21st, 2020. Guest speaker will be Jennifer Couturier Duchemin, Operations Director, Northeast Arc Adult Family Care (AFC) program, Personal Care Management (PCM ) program.
Disability Housing: Creative Solutions, Options and Challenges Workshop in Massachusetts* All transition age families are welcome – especially if you are the parent or guardian of a teen or young adult between 14 and 22 years old and would like some support as you work to prepare your loved one for a fulfilling life beyond school
*  If you care for an adult child a disability or an elderly relative, you may want to hear about this MassHealth program that pays you a monthly tax-free stipend for the care you are already giving. Adult Family Care is a program for elderly adults and 
adults (age 16 and over) with disabilities who cannot live alone safely. AFC adults live with caregivers who provide daily care.
** Caregivers may be family members (but not spouses or guardians), or non-family members. The program is for adults who need daily help with personal care. The caregiver provides meals, companionship, personal care assistance, and 24-hour support.

  • Caregiver cannot be a guardian of the individual (hear about ways to work around these restrictions)
  • Caregiver cannot be spouse
  • Individual must be 16 or older
  • The individual must be on MassHealth
  • Participants cannot have both AFC and PCA hours – you must choose one program.
  • This MassHealth program is administered by numerous agencies throughout the state.
