Webinar, November 18, 2020, 6:30 PM,  with JFCS Boston. The speakers for this workshop are Amy Sommer and Danya Handelsman, who work with substance-exposed newborns and their families as part of JF&CS’s Project NESST®. NESST is an acronym for “Newborns Exposed to Substances: Support and Therapy.”

  • Audience: Pre-adoptive parents
  • Certificates will be provided for two hours of pre-adoption training.

Topics:

  • Follow-up questions to the presentation on medical risk related to substance use disorder (SUD)
  • How adoptive parents can best support infants who have been impacted by SUD
  • Specific strategies and supports that NESST staff offer to adoptive families
  • Opportunities to seek individual consultation and support from NESST staff
