June 11th deadline for Summer Series 1: Application Deadline: June 11, 2021. Summer Series 2: Application deadline: July 9, 2021. Free. The MDDC Online Self-Advocacy Leadership Series (SALS) offered by the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council (MDDC), is an interactive online 2 days a week/ 8 class training series that is taught by others with disabilities.
*  Designed for people with ID/DD between the ages 17 and up.
*  Students will learn skills that will focus on the fundamentals of leadership.
*  Students will develop skills that will assist them in pursuing individual goals towards integrated competitive employment and independence.
Objective: Students will learn and practice skills in communication, listening, teamwork, self-awareness, problem solving, and negotiation as it focuses on the fundamentals of leadership.

• Class 1: Who I Am
• Class 2: Communication
• Class 3: Feelings & Values
• Class 4: Self-Advocacy & I Want to Try
• Class 5: Teamwork
• Class 6: Disability Laws
• Class 7: Public Speaking & Rehearsal
• Class 8: Final Speech & Graduation

Option A: Monday and Wednesdays 10am – 11am
June 21, 23, 28, 30 and July 5, 7, 12, 14 
Option B: Tuesday and Thursdays 1pm – 2pm
June 22, 24, 29 and July 1, 6, 8, 13, 15
