Navigating the College Search for Students with Learning Differences Milton, MADanvers, MA, November 1st, 2024. The Northeast Arc Family Support Center’s Transition Conference “Let Start Thinking About Tomorrow” will feature:
Keynote: Sam Farmer – Presentation: “Your Child’s Future Is in Your Hands”. Sam Farmer, identified later in life as autistic, writes articles, records podcasts and presents at libraries, conferences and for corporations and autism community organizations, sharing stories of lived experiences and his opinions on a variety of topics of relevance to the neurodiversity and disability communities. A Long Walk Down a Winding Road – Small Steps, Challenges, & Triumphs Through an Autistic Lens is his first book.
Maryann Welch – Director, Northeast Family Leadership Program, Riverside Community Care. Presentation – Charting the Lifecourse. Maryann will introduce you to the Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) framework, explain the integrated support star and life trajectory tools, and guide you in using these tools and framework for transition planning. Maryann Welch  is a parent of three children, one of whom has autism and other complex needs. She holds a master’s degree in education and is a certified Charting the Life Course Ambassador and Foundations Presenter.
Kathy Kelly – Presentation: Transition Timeline & Benefits. Kathy works for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission as a Student Benefits Counselor. She previously served as Director of Transition Services for the Northeast Arc.
