Ashburnham, MA, April 14th – May 5th, 2024. Level 1 Class. Cushing Academy will be hosting a Level 1 Young Athletes Special Olympics MA program .
* Young Athletes (Level 1) is an introductory sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities ages 2-7.
* The focus is on fun activities that aid in the development of motor skills
through running, jumping, balancing, throwing, kicking, catching and more! Activities covered during a
* Children of all abilities can take part and they all benefit.
* Young Athletes (Level 2) is a child’s next step in Special Olympics participation after they have gone through the Level 1 Young Athletes activities.
* Level 2 focuses on more sport specific skills and drills and introduces young athletes to early game play concepts.
* Children ages 6-12 with and without intellectual disabilities are eligible to participate.
* The coaches and volunteers will be covering soccer skills each of the six weeks of the program.
