Life of Pi Accessible performance in Boston 2223Cambridge, MA, January 18th, 2023. Life of Pi. Sixteen-year-old Pi and his family set off to emigrate from India, but after their ship sinks in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Pi is left stranded on a lifeboat with just four other survivors—a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan, and a Royal Bengal tiger. Time is against them, nature is harsh, who will survive?
* This imaginative theatrical adaptation brings this work of fiction to the stage to tell its epic story of endurance and hope
* * The host theater provides a Deaf ASL Coach, who translates the play into ASL. The Coach works with a team of certified ASL interpreters to develop and rehearse the ASL interpretation, which is performed live, either on or in close proximity to the stage.
* The theater is fully wheelchair accessible with an automatic door from the sidewalk.
* The lobby and entrance to the theater are at sidewalk level.
* There are rows that can be accessed without using stairs. (Please ask the theater for specifics).
* Restrooms are all-gender, wheelchair-accessible.
* Hearing: The theater is equipped with an infrared amplification system for the hard of hearing. Headsets and accompanying headphones are available at the information desk. For patrons with a telecoil hearing aid, headsets and loops are also available – please set your personal hearing device to the “t” setting.
* Vision: There is no obstructed view in the Loeb Drama Center, unless otherwise noted.
* The theater provides large print programs at every production -pick one up at our reception desk.
* Braille programs are available at performances with Audio Description.
* ASL, Open Caption and Audio Described Performance will be offered on different dates.
