Martin Luther King Day Inclusive Event for Families with Disabilities in MassachusettsConcord, MA, January 20th, 2025, with the Music Makes Me Happy Chorus. Free. Music Makes Me Happy brings adults with special needs together with volunteers to sing and bring joy to the community with sing-along-style concerts and their Traveling Smiles program. This program is on the Abolitionists and the Underground Railroad in Concord and will feature well-known spirituals interspersed with historical information presented by Concord historian Richard Smith.
* MLK Day Concert: Let My People Go! Join in on exploring Concord’s role in the Abolition era and the Underground Railroad.
* Sing the spirituals that guided enslaved people to freedom and hear stories of brave Concordians like the Thoreau and Alcott families.
* Songs include Go Down, Moses, Follow the Drinking Gourd, Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, and more.
