Autism Workshop in MassachusettsWebinar, October 13th, 2021, with the Guild for Human Services of Concord, MA. Authors J.M. Crawford (Choices) and Nicole Donovan (A Life Suspended) will share their personal stories of love and determination while navigating the confusing world of autism.
* Both authors will be reading excerpts from their memoirs with a Q&A segment and book giveaway to follow.
About the authors:
J.M. Crawford, mother of an adult son diagnosed with severe autism, takes you along on her journey detailing her ongoing race against time in her memoir Choices. Crawford quickly became a one-woman campaign in search of supports for her aging son. The challenges kept coming with each passing year. Entering adult services would prove to be the greatest challenge of all. Crawford hopes that her story inspires others to find fortitude and faith within themselves and know that their voice matters.
Nicole Hendrick Donovan, a mother of four, couldn’t have prepared for the events that led to her son’s removal from the public-school system. Behavioral spikes, depression, and anxiety were only symptoms of an underlying, untreated diagnosis. Nicole soon realizes her resentments at a failed system and the fear around Jack’s future are sparking a series of panic attacks, which prompts her to look deeper within herself for answers. In her memoir A Life Suspended, Donovan describes the path to her son’s autism diagnosis and her journey to acceptance and unconditional love.
