Sensory Friendly Hours at the Boston Museum of Science Boston, MA, Summer & Fall 2025, 8 a.m – 9 a.m. These dates only: August 3, September 7th, November 30th, December 7th. Access Off Hours is a welcoming, sensory-aware program for people with disabilities, their families, and friends to enjoy the Museum of Science in a calmer, less crowded environment. During these special hours, the Museum’s Exhibit Halls open early for a limited number of guests to explore at their own pace.
* This is a pilot program, and for now, the Museum experience will remain as it typically is during public hours — with the same lighting, sound, and exhibit settings. The difference is the atmosphere: they will limit capacity to 100 people, which means fewer crowds and a quieter, more comfortable space to enjoy.
* You are welcome to stay after 9:00 am, when the Museum opens to the public.
* No documentation or proof of disability is required to participate.
* You are also welcome to bring non-disabled siblings, family members, or friends with you as part of your visit.
