Disability Housing: Creative Solutions, Options and Challenges Workshop in MassachusettsWebinar, May 3rd, 2023, with the Massachusetts Office on Disability (MOD). If you can’t equally enjoy your housing because of a disability-related obstacle, what do you do?  Join an interactive virtual workshop on the reasonable accommodation and modification request process in housing.
* This workshop provides information and examples to help you understand the process from start to finish and tips to avoid common pitfalls.
* This workshop is designed for residents with disabilities (or their advocates), whether they live in rented accommodation or are owners in a housing/condo association.
Discuss:
– What are reasonable accommodation and modification requests and what is their purpose?
– What scenarios are RA/RM requests suited for?
– How to draft an RA/RM request.
– What medical information is necessary to disclose?
– What are a housing provider’s obligations during this process?
– What makes a request reasonable and when can a request legally be denied?
– Tips for informal problem resolution and formal complaint process.
