Accessible Beaches/Beach Wheelchairs in Massachusetts.  Find sand beach wheelchairs and floatting beach wheelchairs in Massachusetts state parks with the DCR Universal Access Program.
* Please contact the beach or park in advance to reserve a beach wheelchair.
* You will need to bring your own Coast Guard certified personal flotation device (PFD) to use a floating beach wheelchair.
* Below is a partial list of the many DCR coastal and inland beaches that offer beach wheelchairs for use (there are more listed at the link provided).
* You will also see a few parks that have the chairs for use on trails, and pools or spray decks that have chairs for use in the water.
* Free – BUT bring your own transfer help. Because these chairs have large balloon tires, you will also need to bring someone to push you.
* It is best to call in advance to make a reservation to use a chair, especially at coastal beaches.
* Please contact the beach or the park before your visit to ask about a reservation.
* There are two types of beach wheelchairs at DCR beaches. Sand and sunbathing beach wheelchairs are made of PVC pipe. These chairs offer a seat belt, a footrest, a beach umbrella holder, and a movable arm for transfer. This style of chair can’t enter the water.
*  Please contact the beach if you have questions about beach mat availability.
Locations: Please see the list below, or for further information contact the DCR Massparks Accessible Beach Page or the Universal Access Program office 413-545-5353 voice; 413-577-2200 TTY
