Worcester School District New SEPAC Page:

Did you know that the Worcester School District has 33 Elementary Schools, 4 Middle Schools, 7 high schools and 9 alternative centers and schools? And now their Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) has a brand new web page for parents. Visit www.spedchildmass.com/support_groups_sepacs for the new address, or to view the addresses of other SEPACs in Massachusetts.    Therapro Free Professional Development Workshops: 
September 26 - December 5. Therapro Showroom in Framingham will offer free professional development workshops, 10% off your shopping and an opportunity to connect and network with others. Topics include Low Tech and AAC, Sensory Feeding Issues, and Sensory Modulation with Early to Late Adolescents. Front page, under "Events".
TOPSoccer For Youth With Disabilities: 
TOPSoccer, The Outreach Program for Soccer,  is a community-based training and team placement program for youths with physical and mental disabilities. Many Massachusetts towns and cities are registering participants. Front page, under "Events".
My Gym Sensory Classes For ASD Children: 
In Boston and Newton. My Gym has created a "Super Stars" program with tumbling, relays and motor skill challenges for the sensory needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Front page, under "Events". 
Sensory Friendly Films at AMC Movie Theaters:
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs:  September 19, 2009, 10 a.m., AMC Theaters in Framingham. AMC Entertainment and the Autism Society offer families affected by autism and other disabilities a monthly opportunity to enjoy films in a safe and accepting environment with the "Sensory Friendly Films" program. New Healthcare Website for Special Needs Young Adults:
Talking With Your Doctor And Other Healthcare Professionals is a new web site with tips and strategies to help youth and young adults with chronic health  conditions communicate more effectively with health care providers. Front page, under "Teens and Young Adults".
Aspergers Teen and Parent Transition Workshops: 
The North Shore Arc's Spotlight Program will offer Transition Workshops for Aspergers Teens and their Parents on Wednesdays, 6 -7 p.m., September 23rd through November 4th, 2009. Topics include: Sexuality Workshop for Teens, Sexuality Workshop for Parents, Transition Workshop for Teens & Parents of Teens/Young Adults, Panel of Independent Living Programs & Opportunities, Panel Discussion with Young Adults with Asperger's Syndrome. ADDP Professional Development Workshops:
September 22-December 1, 2009. Topics include: Avoiding Job Burnout Through Stress Management, Therapeutic Strategies for Working with Individuals with TBI , Aging in Place and Addressing Sexuality. Hosted by the Association of Developmental Disability Providers. Front page, under "Events".

The Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts now has a Facebook page for promoting, communicating, and organizing our social networking. This group is replacing their "groups" page. See our front page, under "Events".
