Accessible Recreation Fair:

Free. Saturday, June 6, 2008, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m., Artesani Park, Brighton.  Featuring accessible cycles and equipment, demonstrations, a D.J., snacks, a spray pool, a playground, information about accessible programs and resources. Pre-registration is highly recommended, especially for use of equipment.  See our front page under "Events-All Ages."

Save Family Support Services Facebook Page:
The Arc of Massachusetts has created two Facebook pages for families and caregivers to spread the word about saving Family Support Services and to tell their personal stories. Visit our "Events-All Abilities" front page column for more information.
Domentary -"Children Left Behind": 
Tuesday, June 9th,7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Hamilton. This documentary discussed public policies regarding high-stakes testing and high school exams required to graduate, and their effects on at-risk, disabled and economically disadvantaged students. Under "Events-All Abilities." 
Fire Safety Training: 
June 4, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Worcester. Presented by the Deputy Fire Chief, Westhampton Fire Department and the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers (ADDP). Fees apply.
Developmental Disability Resources Added:
We have added LD Online and Learning Disabilities Association of America, with information about ADD/ADHD, speech and speech related disorders and reading difficulties, plus The International Dyslexia Association, and information about the Language-Based Learning Disabilities booklet.  www.spedchildmass.com/developmental
Lend Fellowship Opportunity:
The LEND Program in Waltham, Massachusetts is currently recruiting qualified family members and disabled adults with proven leadership experience in special needs. Accepted fellowship students may receive a stipend. Visit our front page, "Events-all ages."
