Listening and Learning From Family Ties:

June 16, 2009, 10:00 a.m. - Noon, Canton Area. Listening and Learning Training from Family TIES brings together parents who have similar challenges in raising children with special needs to connect with others who need support. Front page.

Family Support Fun Events: 
Also hosted by the Y.O.U. Inc. Gardner Family Support Center. Every Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 19th to August 13th. Meet other families with children who have mental, behavioral or emotional health care needs, and enjoy a picnic, games and socializing.
Family-to-Family Health Information Center: 
A free, parent-run project at the Federation for Children with Special Needs, that advises families on how to qualify and apply for MassHealth, access public and private health insurance benefits, find community resources, hosts a listserv, and offers workshops about heartache financing. See www.spedchildmass.com/financial_legal_help
Parent Support Group at Program:
Y.O.U. Inc. Gardner Family Center, Gardner, MA, has parent-directed support groups for parents of children with mental, behavioral, or emotional health care needs. Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and Thursday mornings. See www.spedchildmass.com/support_groups_sepacs
Disability Resource Program:
In Springfield-The Disability Resource Program (DRP) is for all levels and ages with physical disabilities and visual impairments, and offers adaptive sports, organized activities, support groups and self-advocacy and lends adaptive sports equipment.
