Salem, MA, August 9th, 2023. The Northeast Arc has partnered with with the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem to offer Sensory Friendly Summer Wednesday Mornings for their families and friends.
* Free to families that belong to the Northeast Arc. For all others, please inquire about the fees.
* From 10:00 AM to Noon on July 26 and August 9 and 16, families are invited to visit the PEM.
* The museum is typically closed during those times, so it will be quiet for visitors.
* To ensure a welcoming environment, PEM will have the Groups Entrance and Space open, providing families with direct access to restrooms, food and drink approved facilities, and an opportunity to collect one of their KultureCity sensory bags.
* PEM Education and Civic Engagement staff will be present in the galleries, available to offer assistance and support.
* The Peabody Essex Museum is located at 161 Essex St. in Salem and will welcome families through their Groups Entrance.
* During their visit NeArc families will be able to access spaces and exhibits including: East India Marine Hall, All The Flowers Are For Me, Gu Wenda: United Nations, South Asian, Fashion & Design, Maritime, Asian Export Art, the Garden, and the Pod.
* PEM is collaborating with the City of Salem to secure parking meter spots along Essex Street during these mornings.
