Connecting Families: A Bill on Parental Notification of Failed Health Screenings: Using Your Experience to Make a Change. Audrey Falk, EdD, will speak about her experience as a parent working with legislators to propose a bill on parental notification of failed health screenings.
* She will explain the importance of this bill and how families can support it.
* Audrey will also share suggestions for how parents can use their experiences to advocate for policy changes to better the lives of children and families.
* Audrey Falk is the Chair of the Department of Applied Human Development and Community Studies in the Winston School of Education at Merrimack College. She is the Director of the Master’s Program in Community Engagement and a Full Professor. Audrey is a Country Delegate for the International Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association and has been on the editorial board of the Journal of Special Education for 13 years.
