Resiliance Documentary Showing for Massachusetts familiesVirtual Viewing, October 8th, 2020, time TBA, with the Parent Professional Advocacy League of Massachusetts and Federation for Children. This event is part of PPal’s support group for parents and caregivers of a child/youth/young adult with emotional and behavioral healthcare needs, you know this can be a difficult journey.
“Resilience” is a documentary that delves into adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and treatments/preventions for toxic stress. It reveals how toxic stress can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children, putting them at a greater risk for disease, homelessness, prison time, and early death. While the broader impacts of poverty worsen the risk, no segment of society is immune. This documentary also highlights those in pediatrics, education, and social welfare that are using cutting-edge science and field-tested therapies to protect children from the effects of toxic stress.
