Webinar, September 15th, 2021, with the Asperger / Autism Network of Watertown, MA. This session is designed for adults on the spectrum and families of individuals with Aspergers/Autism.
* Do you feel like you are coping with an unprecedented degree of uncertainty? Are you stressed out about things like, Covid-19, climate change, global turmoil, political tensions, or are you frustrated because you can’t identify what stresses you out?
* This session is designed for adults on the spectrum and families of individuals with Aspergers/Autism and features a short presentation, followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
* Webinar participants will share insights about what makes them anxious and how (or if ) they can tell if they are anxious.
* They will also learn about the physical mechanics of anxiety, how to pay attention to their body’s response to anxiety, how to break out the thought traps that sometimes ensnare anxious minds, and the best anxiety coping techniques for “doers” vs.“thinkers.”

SPEAKERs:
Stephanie Monaghan-Blout, Psy.D., a Trauma-informed Therapist and Director of Therapy Services at NESCA. Stephanie specializes in the neuropsychological and psychological assessment of children and adolescents with complex learning and emotional issues and enjoys consulting to schools on these issues. She is a longtime member of the Trauma and Learning Policy Initiative (TLPI) associated with Massachusetts Advocates for Children and the Harvard Law Clinic.
Dr. Monaghan-Blout received a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School with a dissertation entitled, “A Different Kind of Parent; Resisting the Intergenerational Legacy of Maltreatment.” She was a member of the Massachusetts Neuropsychological Society Board of Directors from 2010 – 2013 and from 2014-2017.
