Boston, Museum of Fine Arts, June 3rd, 2023. For kids with Autism Spectrum Disorders, ages 8 – 12. Artful Healing and Beyond the Spectrum offer a specially designed program for Autism Spectrum, including Asperger’s Syndrome, accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
June Theme:  Oceans, Boats, & Acrylic Paintings. E
xplore the theme of the sea and boats in art, drawing inspiration from the MFA’s collection. Examine different paintings and models of boats and discuss the ways in which artists have used this theme to capture different moments throughout history, from calm mornings to important events.
* After the exploration, head to the studio to create acrylic paintings inspired by the sea and boats.
* This hands-on experience will allow students to channel our creativity and put into practice the techniques and styles learned about in our discussion of sea and boat art.
* By participating in this session, learn about the ways in which artists have used the theme of the sea and boats in their work and gain an appreciation for the role of this theme in art history.
