Boston, MA, May 18th, 2024, with the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. For teens with Autism Spectrum and Aspergers Disorders ages 13 to 18.
* Focus on specific art topics and incorporate discussion, critical inquiry, and sketching in the galleries. Students then work independently on a project with guidance from an experienced instructor.
May Theme: Fashion Unraveled: A Dazzling Dive into Design. Delve into the exciting world of fashion, a field integral to human culture for centuries, serving as a unique window into the past and allowing creative self-expression.
* Explore the transformative role of fashion, from personal identity, social status, to cultural beliefs, tracing its evolution in harmony with societal changes. Session includes a detailed examination of the MFA’s fashion collection, studying unique styles, materials, and their cultural significance. Put theory into practice in the studio session – design your own bags, inspired by the studied pieces. This hands-on experience, involving various materials and techniques, helps channel the inner fashion designers, showcasing personal styles and creative visions.
