Family conference for developmental disabilities and siblings in Greater Massachusetts FamilyTaunton, MA, May 2nd, 2019. Open to the community. ALEC is the Autism and Law Enforcement Education Coalition’s training workshop, an evening to talk and learn about autism awareness initially designed for first responders.
* Event is for first responders, families, community agencies, district staff, city leaders, recreational facilities, self-advocates, and anyone with an interest in supporting and gaining a better understanding of autism are strongly encouraged to join us.
* ALEC training helps foster a deeper understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders among public safety and law enforcement personnel.
* ALEC program presenters are First Responders with direct and first hand knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders through a family member.
* The audience hears from a colleague with personal knowledge and an extraordinary investment in the program.
* The goal of ALEC training is to complement but not replace previous training and to provide additional tools to use in assessing the risks of a situations first responders face daily.
