Webinar, January 15, 2021. Hear a special education attorney review the 2020 Bureau of Special Education (BSEA)case rulings from across Massachusetts. The selection of cases will reflect those which the presenter shows what may represent trends in the interpretation of special education laws.
* The presenter will be be Attorney Daniel J. Heffernan. Dan concentrates his practice on representing families of children, with special needs, in education and civil rights matters. He has served on the board of directors of the Federation for Children with Special Needs, and was board president from 1995 to 2007. He also serves on the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress, Education Task Force. He writes and lectures frequently on special education law and advocacy. He has two daughters, Maggie and Evie, and a twenty-seven year old son, Brian, who has Down syndrome.
