Cambridge, MA, July 18th, 2019, 6 – 8 p.m. For ages 16 to adult – accessible and adaptive kayaking with the DCR Universal Access Program and Kayaking with Waypoint Adventure Greater Boston Area.
Based on the goals of a Beginner Beginner/Introductory Level Kayaking program, this type of session could have the following qualities based on the enrollment of the group:
* It could consist of individuals who are brand new to the sport of kayaking. They’ve either never been kayaking, never been in or around water, or have only had the experience a few times.
* It could consist of individuals who are at a beginner level when it comes to social interaction, have a need for repetition of instructions, or would benefit from a 1:1 support.
* It could consist of kayakers under the age of 16. Trips may be a shorter distance of paddling (approximately 2 miles), shorter in duration (approximately 2 hours), and/or have a higher staff/volunteer:participant ratio.
