* As students get older and the general curriculum standards become more complex, it is important that families understand how to find the entry points into the curriculum. Accommodations and modifications are key to a successful educational experience.
About the speaker:
* Pamela Booth, Lead Parent Educator/Educational Consultant, The 3-21 Foundation, leads parent workshops on topics in Down syndrome education, bringing evidence-based research into practice to homes and schools. She is a frequent presenter on best practices for teaching literacy and numeracy to children with Ds and presents annually at Ds regional conferences, reaching both parents and educators. Pam is the proud mother of 17-year-old Christopher, who happens to have Ds. Her work in the policy realm has included positions with Massachusetts Families Organizing for Change (MFOFC), and Southeastern MA21 Council, a disability policy collaborative. She currently serves on the Board of the Brockton Area ARC and Massasoit Community College’s MA Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative..
