The election is finally over, but worries about more budget cuts are not.
What is most disturbing is that so many disability programs were decimated or eliminated, yet corruption and cronyism has led to certain folks getting a heapin' helpin' of fat pensions for miniscule, no show, or manipulated government jobs.
Meanwhile, working families have seen their small disability stipends shrunken or completely taken away. Those funds paid for essentials like trained respite help, expensive medications, and costly specialist's fees and co-pays.
Now it is time for Governor Patrick and our legislators to show respect to the special needs community with no more future budget cuts.
In the meantime, I hope he puts those heapin' helpin' pension programs on the chopping block, and takes a mighty swing.
