Children"s Mental Health Week is May 3 to 9, 2009:
An annual series of local events that combat the stigma associated with mental illness and educate communities about children with mental health needs and the impact of mental illness on families. Sponsored by the Federation of Families for Children"s Mental Health.
Resource Fair for Families of Children With Special Needs:
Saturday, May 2, 2008, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Schwartz Center for Children, North Dartmouth, MA. Featuring the latest information about recreational programs and health insurance specific to families of children with special needs, and view seating, mobility and adaptive equipment, home health products and orthotic and prosthetic devices. 

Guardianship Training Seminar: 

Saturday, May 9, 2009, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Marlborough, Massachusetts. For parents, siblings, guardians and service providers. Presentation covers sweeping changes from Uniform Probate Code, determining if a guardianship is necessary, obtaining a guardianship, what type is appropriate, the powers and responsibilities of guardians and alternatives to guardianship.  

Special Education Law: Children with Aspergers or Other Neurological Differences:
Monday, May 4, 2009, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., Watertown, MA. This workshop will review the rights and procedures which ensure children with AS/neurolgical challenges receive educational opportunities which reflect competency and potential, and understanding the new legal information such as the  Transition Planning Law. 
Behavior Management To Make Your Life Easier:
Free. May 2nd, 12pm - 2pm, Burlington, MA. Topics include how to utilize reinforcement and functional communication to promote better behavior in the home.

Designed for high school students, this new site includes resources to start planning for college and video interviews with successful college students with disabilities. 
The Road to Mobility-Adaptive Driving: 
Saturday, May 16, 2009, 1 p.m.- 4 p.m., Norwood, Massachusetts. Presented by the Spina Bifida Association of Massachusetts.  For teens, ages 13-17, and their parents or caregivers.
